Myopia Management

Supporting Clearer Vision for the Future

What is myopia?

Myopia— most commonly known as shortsightedness, it is a very common eye condition and can affect 1 in 3 people, it makes it difficult to see things clearly in the distance, like road signs, the TV or a classroom whiteboard. It’s becoming more common, especially among children and teenagers, and now affects up to 40% of people by the age of 17. Myopia is often hereditary and typically begins in childhood and plateaus by the age of 20.

At Swords Eye Centre, we offer Myopia Management—a tailored treatment plan designed to slow down the progression of myopia and reduce the risk of developing more serious eye conditions in the future. In fact, studies have shown that myopia management can reduce progression by up to 78%!
